Dr. Lauren Langley earned her Masters in Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing (MSN) from the Vanderbilt University School of Nursing in 2001 and has been board certified as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner since 2001. She received her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from the Vanderbilt University School of Nursing in 2014. Early in her career, Dr. Langley lived in New Orleans, LA, where she worked in the inpatient setting and specialized in the treatment of eating disorders and trauma-based disorders. In 2009, Dr. Langley received an opportunity to use her specialty training in trauma-based disorders in work with active duty military men and women. She relocated to North Carolina and worked for 5 years at the Naval Hospital Camp Lejeune treating active duty Marines and Sailors suffering from a variety of psychiatric illnesses. She began a private practice in Wilmington, NC, in 2011. She has vast experience working with individuals coping with ADHD, depressive disorders, anxiety, OCD, eating disorders, PTSD, substance use disorders, impulse control disorders, bipolar disorders and childhood behavioral issues.
This 20-year professional career has reinforced for Dr. Langley that the treatment of mental health disorders is a complex process. Dr. Langley views the provider-patient relationship as a partnership and works with each patient as an individual with a goal of symptom remission. Dr. Langley is skilled and experienced in the pharmacologic management of mental health disorders. She uses psychiatric evaluation, pharmacogenetic testing by GENESIGHT, medication management, psychotherapy and other modalities to create an effective treatment plan. Patients are age 5 and older.
